converting a 2006 accord sedan 6cylinder to 6 manual
how much is the estimated cost to convert my 6 cylinder 2006 EX-l car to the 6 speed manual trans that was offered that year?
Mine only has 56K on it and when I find one they all have over 150K on them. I live in MD what is the best place to have this done? I am no tech but isn't it easier to do the conversion if it was an option? thanks for any and all info.

Judging by you saying "I'm no tech", I'm assuming you aren't willing to do the conversion yourself so that will definitely jack up the price by as much as $2,000 for labor. I'm not sure if they have kits for a conversion of a 6 cylinder 2006 EX-l but I've seen similar kits going for around $3,500. Sorry I don't have any more specifics!

Beside price, I think it is illegal to do this conversion without re-doing a lot of paper work. I checked with the shop that does the emission and testing, and even though they said they do not care what transmission the car comes with, there is more to it. They said as long as the emission light is off and car drives safely, they are OK. However, I remember some time ago, I saw the legislation requires any modification to match precisely the configuration of a manufacturer standard model. Meaning, a 4 cyl 2006 Accord DX with original auto transmission cannot be fitted with an Acura TSX 6 speed manual. It's got to be the 5 speed manual only, that the accords are certified. Even if it may work with the TSX 6 speed...
There is a letter in the VIN number that says the transmission type. If you change transmission type, you need to o change the VIN number to have VIN comply with modified car. meaning registration, etc
