Default Check engine problem

So I have a Honda Accord 2003 4 cylinder VTEC and I have the check engine light on. It reads 2 codes the first says rocker arm actuator stuck on bank 1 and the other is a knock sensor malfunction. the problem started in winter when I would drive, anytime I got above 2.5 rpms the engine would get loud and slow way down but not stall out. I talked to someone at autozone and he said it was probably that my timing valve had gone bad and that it would be a costly fix. But when I took it to a shop when they looked it up they suggested an oil change which hasn't really done anything besides the car doesn't slow down anymore when I start driving, but I still notice some hesitation when I go to accelerate. Other post have said to change the oil pressure switch and the knock sensor but I wasn't sure what I should really do because mine seems a little different from others seeing how my car keeps hesitating before accelerating faster.

Telling us the "actual" code might help......the vtec code could be tripping the knock sensor.

But again, not a whole lot of information to go on.

Are the codes still there....or since the oil change and re-set they are gone but you just have a "hesitation" issue?

Got a volt meter and some time? You need to test the switch and the inputs to it.
