Default A/c problems

My ac went out on my 05 accord. Change the compressor and compressor switch and still didn't work. Took it to Honda dealer and said I need a new pcm and charging me 985$! Can I do this job my self? Or do they have to because of the reprogramming. My part number is 37820-rca-a98. I've seen some used ones online with a different part number thats for 05 accords. Will those work if I buy it? I've also heard of bypassing the computer and installing a toggle switch but how long will that last and is it ok for the compressor

Ask the dealer how much they charge to program a new ECM/PCM.
You can do everything else yourself.
