Acid leak in the trunk - 2007 Accord
Dear members,
Need a suggestion from y'all. I changed the car battery a while back and stored the dead battery in the trunk of my accord for a week before disposing it. Quite a bit of acid seeped out from the battery and spilled all over the trunk. The trunk reeked of acid and now the mat on the trunk is coming apart.
Is there anyway I can replace the whole trunk floor carpet? Or any other suggestions?
Thank you,
Raj.

Yes. There are several pieces in the trunk. Go here: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/index.php?p=home or here: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/home.htm typo in your info and look under "rear tray- side lining". or you could try finding one salvage: http://www.car-part.com/
Neutralize the remaining acid with 1 part water and 3 parts baking soda before putting new pieces in. Also, make sure to wear gloves.
