6 speed trans on 4cyl accord, possible?
Hey guys. I have had my mind on a 03+ accord 4 cyl. for a while but do not like the sluggish 5 speed. My question is....... will a 6 speed rsx or civic si trans work on any of these years? If so, is there a certain year(s) that is needed? Also would there be anything special that needs done??
I have done some searching and havent found anyone who has done this. It just seems that is would make since that the 6 speed would just take place of the stock, with minimal to no issues.
Thank you
ZANE

If ur looking into a 6speed tranny ur best bet will be the acurs tsx 6 speed tranny, since they share the same engine with the 03-07 accord, with a bit of adjustments , but it has been done and can be done ...g/l

Well for one he doesn't have an 09 accord it's an O3. Do you have a k24engine? I think you do, the TSX will swap no mod necc. The hasport CD5 swap states a 03-05 accord 5 speed will work or an 04-06 6 speed TSX trans will work. Interchangeably

A late model Accord Coupe with a mild K Motor build and a TSX six speed...that sounds like a very nice daily driver.

your answer is yes.
I have a 2003 Accord EXL 5spd from factory.
05 TSX 6Spd
Ebay 8lb Flywheel
Exedy Stg1 Clutch (NOT just an oem replacement)
I did the swap at about 65k . I have 110k now. ZERO issues. LOTS of fun. Night and day difference. When I had all my bolt ons Id be dead even with new Si's and all bolt on GSR integras .
The only challenge is finding the transmission.
Only other thing is that there will be no reverse lockout, which isnt much of a problem once you get used to driving, Ive only accidentally hit the shifter near reverse while driving and it only made a tiny *scratch* and I quickly went into 6th.
Your speedometer will be off as well. I learned to just compensate in my head. Your wheel/tire combo will affect this as well due to the overall diameter of the wheels/tires . To go about 70, I go 84 on the speedometer.
There are fixes to both of these issues but of course $$ is involved and I just learned to live with it :p
