2011 Accord 4cyl, heater & coolant system questions
I'm looking for feedback from those who really know how these systems work on this Honda. Bought the car and temp gauge reads just below half way, yet when car is fully warmed up, I get heat, I get lots of air flow, I just don't think the air is hot enough. Once warm I drive the car 25 miles to work with the heat on full heat and fan, and it takes more than half the trip to get the interior warmed up.
Coolant is full and clean, thermostat opens fully when tested in 190+ temp water. Hoses both in and out to heater core are too hot to hold onto.
Why is the thermostat near the bottom of this engine rather than at the top of most engines I've worked on?

Have you tried with the heat not on "Full/Auto"? I ask only because that setting will also run the AC compressor.
I don't have the instructions for the HVAC codes on the 2011, you might look around and see if you can find the instructions on how to get the codes from the HVAC unit. There might not be any but it is where I would start.
