Default 2005 Accord maintenance and costs

Hey guys,
I have a 2005 accord 4 cylinder sedan with almost 105k miles. I know I need to take it in soon for maintenance but was just wondering if they timing chain needs to be replaced. Everything I've read says no but my mechanic said at 105k it would need replacing. I'm hesitant to take it to him if he said it does and it doesn't. Anyone have the same model and remember the price they payed for their 105k maintenance and did you get the chain replaced or not?

Thanks folks.

The 4 cylinder timing chain should last the life of the car. There is no maintenance interval for it.

The V6 engine has a timing belt, and the interval for it is 105k miles.

timing chain doesnt need to be replaced unless noisy. or if its stretched. you will know once its stretch as it will set a check engine light.

So since I don't really have a mechanic around here that I know that well, would you suggest just taking it in and saying what do I need done? Or should I go in with an exact list of things to check according to the maintenance schedule?

I've heard spark plugs and water pump? are these things I could easily do myself? I definitely think I could do the spark plugs because I've heard its easy but I'm not sure about the water pump or even if it needs to be replaced. Any input would be helpful.

Also, any idea what the normal maintenance schedule in the manual would run me? Thanks folks.

and how do you know if it's noisy? Sometimes at low RPM's I hear some sort of light clicking sound that doesn't really scare me but it doesn't necessarily sound normal? almost like one of the pistons is making a slight noise when it's at the top or bottom of its motion, but it's something that has been going on for a while and nothing seems wrong with it.

The water pump should not be changed, unless it is leaking or not working. Just make a list of the maintenance items that are due, according to the miles/time intervals in the owner's manual. They might want to flush the brake fluid (every three years regardless of mileage), the power steering fluid, and the coolant, which IMO would be a good idea if they haven't been done before now. As far as pricing, that could vary by where you live, so I would go to a few different places to compare prices.
