Hi all i have a 2004 honda accord 2.4 that i am doing a timing chain in. When i got it all done it still does the same thing that it came in for. It will fire but only when you put your foot on the gas. When at TDC everything lines up the way it should. I did a compression test and 3 and 4 have nothing there. Wondering if the valves are bent or what happened or am I 180 out? If i put it at TDC once the cams line up. If i roll it over again and go to the TDC marks on the crank shaft pully the cams dont line up. Every 2 rotations they line up is this how it should be?

I should also note that i changed the timing chain because at TDC before the cams were out 4 or 5 teeth. But the car still had 160-170PSI in each cylinder. Now i didnt gain anyting except its in time now and lost compression in cylinders 3 and 4. Or could that just be because its in time where it should be now and this is why it didnt show before?

That far out (4/5 teeth).....I'm with bent valves.

Don't know/can't say if they were bent before or after but the fact 3 & 4 have zero compression....might get 3 and then 4 to "closed/TDC" - try by the book but also watch the valves, then do a leak down.

What codes did it come in with? 0341, 0303, 0304

The only code it came up with was P1009 Honda - Variable Valve Timing Control Advance Malfunction and then the misfires and etc.
I just dont understand how it had compression and now it doesnt. Its timed perfectly now but was out 4-5 teeth before. it runs but only when your foots on the gas.

I have a 2003 accord 2.4I iVtech doing the same exact thing. Ran good but would stall at every stop had codes for cam sensors, replaced both of them but still kept stalling. Took timing cover off, chain was very very loose was off 5-6 teeth. Put new chains, guides, tensioner, etc.... All markings line up perfectly and it's at TDC, and now I have no compression in any cylinders it won't even fire with throttle all the way open. Did you get your car fixed if so what was the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
