Default 03 Accord Security System

So does the anti-theft system that comes with my accord actually "LOCK" the ECU from allowing the car to start?

Basically, is it really possible to steal the car without a key that has been properly "chipped" to allow the car to start?

I just want to know how this system works....

Thanks!

The owner's manual for my 03 EX V6 says the immobilizer system works by disabling the fuel system (doesn't explain how though). Do you really have 115,000 miles on it? Is it an automatic? Have you had any transmission problems? Just wondering

If the ECU doesn't receive the correct code from the key, the car will not start. This can be bypassed by swapping out another ECU and using a key that was programmed to that ECU. The car can also be towed away.

It appear that Honda still didn't correct the defects in their trannies.

Get out while you can..

No transmission problems yet. I've heard I should have some though...there was a recall to get a "jet" system added to the tranny, haven't had it done yet. I'm bout to go in for timing belt and water pump.
