Default 2004 Honda Accord wheel stud problem and axel nut

Hi there new to the forum and in need of help. I broke 2 of my front passenger side wheel studs while rotating tires. After some research figured I can fix it myself. At least according to all the online videos it seemed very straight forward. However reality is another story. After removing the wheel and the break calipers and the rotors I was surprised of the lack of space for me to be able to swap the broken bolts with the new ones. No room whatsoever. After some thought and asking for some advice from local auto store parts I decided the best and only option is to remove the axel bolt which in return will give me access to the wheel hub holding the wheel studs. My problem is after going over the exact parts with the local auto part store (I was looking over his shoulder) the bolt (or nut) he sold me is bigger than whats on my car. I needed a 36mm socket which was way too big. I estimate whats on my car is around 30 or 31. So what in the name of all the is holy is going on? I visited online stores all gave me the same part as the local auto parts store. Has anyone run into this problem. Thx in advance. I am planning to visit a local Honda dealership tomorrow to see if I can get more information. Any help is appreciated. Thx again. I have attached a web link for some pics
