window problems - 97 accord ex 4dr
we got a new regulator/motor for the driver window and i finally got the old regulator and motor out. i decided to just hook up the harness before putting the new one in and screwing it in and it would go down but wouldn't go up. then i unplugged it and tested the old one and same deal. the switch would make all the other windows (passenger and both rears) go down and up but it would only make the driver's side go down. i dont even hear a noise when i push the button to go up. my guess is the switch is bad? but it works for all other windows and it will at least make the driver window go down so i dont know. any help on what i can do or try would be much appreciated. thanks a lot

two options, number one take the switch appart and clean the connections if that does not solve the problem then the connection is worn out. number two buy another main switch. junk yards about 75-100 if you can find one.

It's not uncommon for the driver's window switch to eventually screw up, after all; it's the one which gets the most use (by far).
You can pick up a replacement Master Switch Assembly (either OEM (used) or Aftermarket) thru EBay

I had the same problem with my 94. I took the switch apart and cleaned the contacts and sanded them down with some 1000 grit sandpaper (just enough to get the dirt and grime off) just to ensure they were clean and put it back together. 5 years later and it works like a charm.

Similar to this post, I have a 95 Accord (4dr) that has really slow front windows. From the main control assembly I have some control over the front two windows, but usually only to go down. Sometimes to go up, they need some convincing (tug tug). This is especially true for the passenger side front window. I am able to control it to go down, but the main assembly can not control it to go up. I have to reach over to the passenger side to make it go up (albeit very slowly and sometimes needs a tug).
I will try cleaning ou the contacts, but if that doesn't work, are my motors/regulators likely bad as well?

i ended up taking the buttons off the switch and looked at the contacts. the contacts that make the driver's window go up are burnt to ****. looks like i found my problem. sucks too b/c now we have this brand new window regulator and we don't even need it. maybe i can sell it to someone on here though. we're trying to find a switch from some junkyards now or maybe an auto parts store. thanks everyone for your help
