Whining Noise till the Anti Lock comes on
I have a 1991 Honda Accord SE. I have a whining noise coming from left side of car. When I touch power steering presume hose, it comes from there. Someone told me to replace the o ring since there is no leak in power steering. There are no bubble in power steering resorvare or any leak. However, when I drive a mile or two, it stops. It's stops only when my Anti Lock light comes up on dash board. I try to pull code by shorthing the blue connector but there is no code. Please anyone share if you have same issue and how did you fix it. Also how do you take the ABS code manually. Thanks

How do I bleed ABS unit. And should I add fluid before bleeding or after bleeding. Does the sysmtom I describe exactly same for you. Please share. I can't figure the issue, mine has 64000 original miles and don't want to trade in since I don't drive a lot. Thanks

Re: Whining Noise till the Anti Lock comes on
Your vehicle may be different, and I know this doesn't apply to 1998 and newer. On mine (1995 Accord EX 2.2L 4cyl), you start by making sure the ABS fluid reservoir is full. Gently release pressure from the ABS unit by ever so carefully opening up the bleeder screw with 10mm bleeder wrench, then close it up. Attach a clear hose (from bleeder kit or clear aquarium tubing) to the bleeder at one and and to a bottle half filled with brake fluid at the other (to prevent air from getting back in). Have a friend turn the vehicle on for about a minute or so to pressurize the system again. Have them turn the vehicle off, open the bleeder to let fluid flow into the bottle, then close the bleeder. Have your friend start the car again, for a 1/2 minute, then turn it off; bleed again and repeat until there are no bubbles present in the fluid. Make sure you don't run the reservoir too low, and top off when you are finished. Discard left over brake fluid. Please do make sure this procedure is correct for your car first.
Also, the ABS light may come on if the sensors located on the calipers are dirty. It's a good idea to have a manual for your car. Hayne's is good to start with. I usually find I need more information on a lot of things, but it's still helpful.
Hope this helps!
