where the rubber meets the steel (fuel line)
okay, so im getting ready to put my old 91 accord back on the road. the biggest issue is the leaking fuel line. today i got under it to investigate, and this is what i ended up with.
there is a little line that comes out of the larger line, which runs down the underside of the car. that little stub had a fitting, which broke off in the union. on the other end of the union is a rubber line with a steel end.
so, any ideas on how i can fix it? i have fuel line tools, but i dont know if its a good idea to but and splice between these two lines (do away with the union). i havent measured the diameter of the lines yet, but i think the ones that go into the union are different diameters... but i could be wrong. i dont really want to drop the tank and everything, but i might have to to get this done right.
any advice is appreciated.

you should be fine as long as the ends have the bulge you could hose clamp....as i have a modified fuel like on my accord(for length) and the stock end was cut off and then hose clamped back on minus the fancy gold fitting around it

doing away with the union isnt a real concern. what im wondering is if a compression fitting will work if the line diameters on either side are different from one another? i mean, there is a pretty big difference between the large diameter line and the smaller metal end on the rubber line that goes up to the pump. so i guess i would just have to buy one that will fit the larger one, and flair the hell out of the smaller one? and get an end to fit each one snug?
here are a few more pics, if you wanna check them out.
