What would cause one of my front wheels to sit back further On my CD5 Accord? The front drivers side sits back about 1/2 inc further back. I know that when I drove it from the alignment shop to my house my UCA was was hitting on the inside lip of the fender well (since I have taken care of it). My guess is the upper control arm is bent a little on that side (would that make sense?).

I have to replace the other UCA anyways becuase the ball joint is bad, should I just replace both UCA's?

(UCA = Upper Control Arm)

Sorry to have so many Post the last couple days, this is the 3rd problem I have had with my Accord this week alone. Thanks in advance.

Any of your wheels curbed hard? The alignment shop should be able to tell you specifically what you would need. Its hard to say what you might need without actually seeing the car.

Nope, I haven't curbed any wheels or anything, I think I am just gonna replace both UCA's and have the front re-aglined and go from there.

I don't believe it has to do with your upper control arm, the upper arm tends to affect camber more than anything. I recommend going to the allignment shop first because it seems like you are having a problem with caster, which they can more than likely fix. From there, they can also tell you what parts may or may not need to be replaced.

Look more at the lower control arm and it's attachment point on the subframe. It's possible the frame is twisted from a prior impact.

A question? What did the alignment shop report as the front end specs.??

The only true indicator would be to give it to a body shop with a frame machine (Guide-chart, Etc) with can check the chassis for being square. That's where you've got to start

I'm going to replace the LCA and go from there. from a visual standpoint, mine is off by less than the depth of a finger.

I took it to a local alignment shop that is fairly reputable for lowered car alignments, I have 215/45/17 tires/wheels on the front and they told me that they did a custom spec. camber setting on the front because the tires are wider than I should have. They did give me a spec sheet with all the settings on, I will scan that tommorrow and post that up.

I have a "slider bolt" style camber kit on the UCA, my other idea is when I drove it to my house from the shop like I said the end of the UCA apparently was hitting pretty bad, I am thinking maybe one of the 2 camber ends slide back and the other didn't? Think that would make a difference?

I am letting the car sit for the weekend to work on it and rip around the teggy for a few days, the things gonna feel like a rocket ship compared to driving nothing but the accord for 2 months

From what I've gathered, 5th Gens run into the occasional UCA interference problem when lowered with some frequency. The same could apply to other years as well.
Not being a "stock" installation, this could become an interesting exercise. I'll look at the specs when you post them.

I had to beat the **** out of the inner fender wheels with a 2.5 lb hammer for like an hour to get enough clearance for the UCA, when I take the car apart to paint I am acutally cutting the area and reshaping and welding it. I will scan the spec sheet tommorow at work and post it.

Yeh, most techs have a BFH in their tool box.......they fix a multitude of sins.
BTW, Was that a metric hammer?
