Water pump help plz!?
My girlfriend jus killed my car today... geez... anyways she told me that the temp guage shot sky high and that the car started to choke, so i checked the radiator to find out that all the coolant is gone, so i was thinking that there was a leak somewhere...
I got the out the distilled water and poured it down the radiator... and looked under the car to see water flowing like a river out from the timing belt cover jus from where the water pump resides!? OMG...
I'm sure it's the water pump... when i started the car b4, the engine would rev to 2k then back to about 1.5k then back to 2k or so and repeating at a constant rate. Is this due to the fact that the timing belt is attached to the water pump?!
My questions is what the possible damage could be... should i change the entire water pump? Any other possible damage?
What could have caused this besides the fact that the water pump is old... and it probably needed changing.
Haven't opened up the car yet, so can't say... any suggestions or help?!

Nevermind... changing it...
***QUESTION***
Is it safe to drive it into my driveway or out of it to park it in the street?! Meaning is it still driveable in the condition that it's in?

I would guess that you main danger is overheating, so if the motor is cold, I'd say it's ok to drive a few feet in and out of your driveway.
I'd change the timing belt and balancer belt at the same time. you're already doing all of the labor, might as well put new parts on
