Warped rotors and only 16K miles on 2006 Accord EX 4 cyn?
Complete stock 2006 Accord Ex 4 cylinder w/auto tranny used as daily commuter with ~16K miles.
The symptom is that when you are slowing down from highway speeds, the steering wheel vibrates violently when brakes are applied. The shaky vibration appears to stop at cruising speeds.
So this is obviously a case of warped rotors. I brought it in to the dealership and they offer a one time courtesy fix under warranty by resurfacing the rotors and replacing the pads. A month after, the rotors are starting to warp and I can feel the vibrations again.
The dealer suggested that I ride my brakes a lot (I do NOT) and because the Accord rotors are very thin, they start to warp when overheat . It can't be unevenly torqued wheels because they torqued it.
Anyone have any ideas as to what's causing my rotors to become warped??
Thx in advance.

Brembos on a 4 cylinder Accord? Come on.
I was thinking of changing the entire front brake assemble to use the V6 Accord's brakes. Anyone know what that entails? There were previous discussions about it, but none on the 7th generation Accord.

I think you are thinking of the Brembo sport rotors whereas I believe standbackimapro is referring to the OE replacement Brembo rotors (a.k.a. Brembo blanks )

I assume the Brembo OE rotors will still be the same diameter, right? If the root problem is not resolved, won't they just get warped again?
I know I can't be the only one with this problem because a Google search reveals that it's a common problem, but noone has a solution. ie. http://www.carcomplaints.com/H...shtml

yes, Brembo blanks would be the same diameter. Brembo blanks are very good quality, coupled with a good set of brakes pads and it's a solid setup.
How do you tighten/torque the wheels to the car?

Also, if your rotors are very hot when you engage the parking brake, it can warp them.

sory to bring up this old post but...
im feeling the same vibration in my steering wheel when applying brakes... it only does this on downhill breaking and when you have to break fast.
but my car has 41k miles on it and i noticed the vibe about 39k... but i figured thats just my brake pads letting me know its that time again.
