Vacuum Problems
I have a 92 accord that I swapped the head out with a f22b1 v-tec. The car idles fine and has awesome acceleration; until it hits 2500 rpm's. At 2500 the car will stop accelerating and the gas cuts out, but the car will continue running and when I shift into 2nd I can only reach 1500 rpm's the same is for 3rd 4th and 5th. I was looking around and found that my f22a vacuum set up is different than the f22b. has anyone heard of a way to run the vacuums for this swap?

Re: Vacuum Problems
ok so I went and looked a friends vtec and I ran the hoses as I seen, but I don't know where hoses 20 and 21 would run to. anyway now I just need to figure out how to make it look sexy lol

Re: Vacuum Problems
one vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator.
the lines coming out of the control box on the firewall....one will go to the egr valve, the others will go to the manifold. thats box has the evap purge solenoid, egr control solenoid and map sensor in it.
and what on earth do you have hooked up to the map sensor on the throttle body? did you cut the plug off the 5th gen harness and splice it on to yours (meaning you moved the map sensor plug from the firewall map sensor and put it on the throttle body one)? is your tps even hooked up?

Re: Vacuum Problems
No I have the complete Throttle body and Intake Manifold from the Vtec. The whole thing is there head is there with an after market header. The O2 sensor is ran to the front of the catalyst. My TPS is plugged into the original harness. The engine harnesses for both cars are all the same; excluding the vtec aspects. I have read that it may be my fuel pump reset switch. IDK where that is though.

Re: Vacuum Problems
well if you had a map sensor on your 92 throttle body someone had already done something weird as the map sensor is inside the control box. the control box has teh egr control solenoid, the egr vacuum control valve, the evap purge solenoid and the map sensor.
20 and 21 just need to see a vacuum source from the manifold.

Re: Vacuum Problems
I ran the hoses to the manifold, now I just need to know why I can not accelerate past 1500 rpm's. when I do not have a load on the engine it will redline; but when I shift to first gear and drive away I can only get to 1500 before the fuel pressure bogs out and I have to shift to get it to go again. But if I press the clutch while it bogs out I can rev it up. wierd...

Re: Vacuum Problems
No, he said he used the vtec TB so that's why the map sensor is on the top, it's not the accord one.
Can you take pics of where you ran each vacuum hose and we can help u to route them correctly.
Given u have the same amount of components they should all add up. The hoses themselves should be numbered as long as u didn't take them off the source they should be easy to tell what they go from and to.

Re: Vacuum Problems
im curious what ecu you are using. though im not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to vtec head swaps and all the wiring stuff that comes with it.
i see the 90-93 map is still in the control box. maybe try the f22a tb on the f22b plenum so that the vacuum lines can be hooked up in their stock location. hose #21 is supposed to be the vacuum hook up for the 90-93 map sensor. 20, 24, cruise control, fuel pressure regulator all go to any open nipple on the upper manifold. and then 16 goes to the egr solenoids which get their vacuum from 24 through the upper manifold
make sure the tps sensor connection is not mixed up with the egr or map, can't remember which but i know two of them are easily mixed

Yeah I will get pics tomorrow, and post them asap.

Re: Vacuum Problems
Hey dude, see if it's throwing any codes. Is the check engine light on ? When I just finished my swap, I couldn't get the vtec pressure pin on the connector and when I plugged in the connector it wasn't making contact. It was only a couple weeks or so ago that I realized that the connector can be snapped open for easy assembly for the pin to go onto the connector otherwise it just gets stopped by the thing that opens up. Not sure if this is ur issue or not. My car was throwing a code for vtec pressure switch and the car was in limp mode.
