TCS light switch
ok, i just bought a used 02 honda accord...When i drive the TCS light ocasionally turns on. I know the light stands for traction control system, but i have two questions. First, what does the TCS do? Second, why do you think this is happening and is it alot to fix or a big problem?? Thanks alot for all your help

Re: TCS light switch (mnorrell)
The TCS light will come on any time the system detects wheel spin. If the road is wet, when you take off from a stop it can happen easily. If the light is coming on when the road is dry, and you are not accelerating hard, there is probably a problem with the system. The TCS system will apply the brakes to the wheels when they start to loose traction. The TCS button on the dash will turn the system off, but every time you turn the car off, then back on, the TCS will be back on again.
