stock radio help

stock radio help
so i bought a stock radio on ebay for my 94 accord. i took the serial number over to honda so that they can give me the code to unlock it. they gave me the code, but it still doesnt work.... what gives?

I know this works on newer Accords, not sure about older ones. Try turning the key on with the radio off. Then hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons down and press the power button on the radio. This should give you a 5 digit number folowed by a 2nd 5 digit number. That is the serial number. If it matches the number you gave to honda then your radio is fubar. If not, give em that number. Like I said, i'm not certain that it will work on yours. Give it a shot and let me know if it does work.

ok so i went to a diff dealer and they gave me the same code..... i double checked the serial number and it wasnt tampered with, either...

Do'h should've thought of this,
Check the "backup radio/antenna fuse" or something along those lines, I believe it's on the interior of the car.
It's possible that's what's preventing you from getting it working.Nothing in the car would prevent you from swapping radios.
Worst case is buy a $50 aftermarket

it lights up, says code, and beeps twice every now and then when the wrong code is entered... i have stereos lying around at home but i wanted to return to stock... i dunno what else to do...

see if every time you punch in the code the keys or preset button are not sticky....or they are actually making contact......worst case scenario buy one from the junk yards.....
