spark plugs

Re: spark plugs (tArebelpinoy)
Most people here will say the OEM ones. NGK's
As for me, I would go big, and get some Iridiums. Denso Iridium to be exact. They did help on the RSX. But 1 brand not to buy are Bosch. Lost so much power. They are just bad.

In a Junkyard near you.
You can put any plug you want into an american car. Heck you can even make your own. But a Honda will never run good on anything but a NGK or Denso spark plug.

Re: spark plugs (The-Kid)
I have tried Bosch Denso and NGK on my honda and let me tell you my experience with these....
Bosch I bought the platinum 2 they increased my responce but they got messed up pretty quick...they started to misfire like in 2 weeks....these are good for breaking windows
Denso I tried the cheap ones they were craptastic Loss of power and lots of misfires..at high speeds........ these are perfect for DD and nothing more
NGK I use the v-power They last me over 6 months but thats when I change them
The only bad here is sudden increased engine temps make them get white corrosion
I currently have OEM Sumitomo wires....I'm gonna upgrade to NGK wires and I'm gonna try those iridium NGK's

Re: spark plugs (cjo_28)
if your stock or just have minor bolt ons than NGK V-Power, thats what honda used, and at $8 for a set of 4, they're practically disposable, cuz i know your gay *** spends more than that a day at starbucks.

i wouldnt go as far to say a definate no increase in power or MPG without seeing some hard test done, but the way i see it is at best your spending ALOT more money for LITTLE to no gain.

We did a study of them in one of my EE classes
For the most part you can see a minimal gain on the low end with diff plugs but their top end lacks (and dips below OEM). If you were to buy them you'd need to see the full chart on their performance throughout the range of RPM's
So for a DD the there isn't truly a need for it.

okay im not even going to mess with those pulse plugs then. so what would you guys recommend to be the best spark plug for me to run. due to the fact that im running headers and an exhaust system, i know i need plugs that will burn cooler. right now ive got bosch platinum plugs and ive heard negative things about them.

header n exhaust doesnt require cooler plugs. just run ngk v-power. or denso or ngk iridiums if you feel rich.

Ok, I'm sold on the NGK Iridium plugs after reading this and doing some research on them, but what about my cap & rotor? Anything special I can do other than OEM to increase my gas mileage and longevity of the engine? I don't even know if that would do anything for the mpg...

Re: (tr0n)
I had some of the Bosch Platinum plugs in my civic for about 3 years, and just replaced them with the regular NGK's. When I took the platinum plugs out they looked almost brand new. I haven't seen any difference in my mpg since I've put the NGK's in or any difference in how it drives. So in my opinion as long as you get the right temp and gap plugs for your engine they are probably all the same. Although I've heard bad things about the Bosch plugs from friends. As far as mileage goes, your driving habits/style is what will affect your mileage the most. So drive nicely.

Re: (rhdins)
i agree. when i swapped in the ngk iridiums i had some bosch platinums in ther for about the past 6 months, and they didnt even look bad at all. but my driving style is very aggressive...so switching to the ngk's made me very happy. its true that as long as you get the gap right you really cant tell a whole lot of difference. but the key is....you still can tell a little little bit. and if your like me then that little little bit makes ya a whole lot happier. if i had to give my opinion then i would tell people to go get the ngk iridiums.
