Slammed into a curb...... HELP!!!
I was in Flagstaff Arizona this weekend to snowboard and when i was driving around in town it started to snow like no other.... they hadn't plowed the roads yet so there was a ton of snow on the road and i was driving down this hill pretty slow but my car is not at all setup for the snow.... my car started to slide to the right towards the curb so i turned the wheel to the left.... it did nothing... i pumped the brakes.... did nothing.... i ended up hitting the curb pretty hard directly on with my front right rim.... now when i hit the brakes my car pulls way to the right and makes this horrible like popping noise.... anyone know what that could be? thanks

My suggestion is to practice using the e-brake. If you're understeering try to enduce oversteer to neutralize the car. Pull the brake not enough, you're still understeering, pull it and keep it there for too long, you're oversteering, pull it just right and you'll slide sidways for a second, that's when you ease into the throttle and neutralize the slide.
Try this in a controled situation, like an empty parking lot, unplowed prefferably, but dont be silly and do donuts, that's not productive, work on that technique specifically. Two winters and you'll be a pro.
- Vlad, who lives in Michigan, the worst roads, and some pretty bad snow.

First of all your alignment is off (obvious). What's causing it? Well, you may have bent a tie rod, or another suspension component which could be causing your popping noise (you don't say when it happens - in turns, driving straight, over bumps etc...) There is a possibility that you have damaged the bearing too (i know, because i slid into a curb in the rain and had to replace my bearing due to whining noise, replace wheel due to shimmy and get alignment)
That's about all i can say without pulling the wheel off and looking at it.

Lower control arm is mostlikely bent! The LCA bend like butter. I remember hitting a curb at 45mph and Bent the suspensoin crossmember, LCA tierods ball joints the whole 9..

I did that a couple years ago. Slid into the curb due to snow covered ice. I hit the passenger side front tires on a nice big curb. Happened when I was leaving my apartment so I didn't have far to travel back which was good because I had to wrestle with the steering wheel because it was pulling so bad. I broke a chunk out of the rim, bent the lower control arm, tore a part of the subframe, bent the radius rod, somehow started leaking fluid from the brake line bolted to the back of the caliper(which was fine when it was all reassembled), don't know about the bearings I just replaced them to be safe. The tie rod and axle were both fine.
Doesn't sound like you did as much damage, good luck.
