Shift Interlock System - works once in a while - help needed
98 Accord LX 2.3L
103,000 miles
The shift interlock system on my car works about half the time. When it doesn't work I have to use the ignition key to release the button on the shifter, shift to neutral, and then start the car. Getting to be a PITA.
The brake switch is working OK, so it makes me think the interlock solenoid may have a loose wire or something.
Anybody have any experience with this? How do I access the solenoid? Do I have to remove the shifter or just take apart the console?
Tried searching the archives, seems that everyone that has had this problem before has had a bad brake switch, so no fixes posted.
Thanks.
