Default Routine Maintenance ?'s

Alright guys, I need to get my tranny fluid changed this Friday (Due to my free time that I have) and I was wondering if any of you recommend any specific product outside of what Honda has to offer. Nothing has been done engine maintenance wise other than oil changes every 3,000 miles or so, spark plugs, and wires were changed around 40-50k miles. since about 30k miles I believe, there are approx. 65,000 miles on the car currently. Additionally, do you guys think I should get anything else changed while I'm at it? Thanks ahead of time.

for a fatory sotck car you really can't go wrong with the honda fluid. It actually has alot more protective additives than alot of aftermarket fluids. As for other mmantenace i would consult your owners manual and see what it recomends. I think it recomends a water pump and timing belt at around 60k so if you want to stick to the schedule i would say go ahead and get that done as well, but its not going to be cheap.

maybe so but i havent spend more than 70 bucks for everything all original oem honda timing and balancer belt, after market water pump, koyo tensioners. all on ebay. just becarefull on what part your buying. thats all. i purchased everything seperatly and everything is good on my car and im pretty happy on how it turned out. just do your research if you do purchase oem from ebay. know exactly the part numbers. just a suggestion.

something important like transmission fluid , timing belt and water pump i would go OEM Honda Parts. For that. those are wayyyyyyyyyy to important to go risking a "hit and miss" on ebay..

I thought a water pump and timing belt would be due more towards 100k miles?

Assuming you vehicle is a 4cyl, here is the 60k. 65k calls for just an oil change. Timing belt and other things are due at 105k miles. As far as fluids to use, anything Honda approved or equivalent to that in performance will be fine. Most places will carry fluids that are meant to "meet or exceed OE specifications" and have no problem doing so. If you can find it, I'd reccomend and BG Enterprises fluid and/or additives. We use those here and they are great! Hope that helps.
