Reverse Lights
Have any of you guys changed out your reverse light bulbs? I was wondering if any aftermarket ones were brighter than stock. I would like to be able to see a little better with them. The blue aftermarket ones worry me that I wont be able to see as much.

the blue ones seem to be more dim than the stock bulbs. so far i think the brightest bulbs are the stock ones. i'm kind of curious about the silver star bulbs.

Re: Reverse Lights (CD7power)
Ok I'm also curious about the Silverstar bulbs. I figured the blue ones were a lot dimmer than stock ones as the other bulbs I have replaced with blue bulbs well mainly white with a little blue they haven't been as bright as the stock ones. Like my dome light so I figured blue reverse light bulbs would probably be worse too.

You can try some white LEDs. I've replaced a lot of my lighting with LEDs and theyre much brighter, dont overheat, last longer, and use less power
Just type in the number for the bulb you need (you can find the number on sylvania.com) and search for white LEDs on eBay, usually less than 10 bucks shipped

yup, LEDs are the only good solution. believe me, i ahve tried it all. dont waste your time with silverstar, they make poor quality bulbs that die fast so you have to go and buy new ones again. bulb tinted bulbs only appear whiter, but because the glass is tinted, it blocks out a bit of light that would otherwise go through, like on factory bulbs. LEDs , otherwise, look for a bulb with the same size, but 5w higher rating, dont go any higher because u risk melting **** around it.

Re: Reverse Lights (hometheaterman)
Would these be any better than stock http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIA19228 or is LED's definately the way to go if you don't keep stock ones? I have read about red led's not being as bright as stock but are the white ones pretty good?

You'd be spending more than you would buying an LED and it wouldnt be as good IMO. Theres several choices of LED, including multiple diodes per bulb and wedge style, both of these will spread the light evenly and more efficiently.

this would be exactly what you want, but if you search on the net for 7440 LED I bet you'll find one much cheaper

Ok LED's just worry me as the reviews I have read on colored LED's haven't been very positive. Thats why I was asking about some of the other bulbs.

Re: Reverse Lights (accordselux)
uh yea, why would u want to put colored LEDs on your reverse??
white LEDs or oem halogen bulbs, those are the only two good choices. dont waste your money buying big brand expensive halogens, theyre not nearly worth the price.

Re: Reverse Lights (sumptimwong)
I do want reverse lights and don't want colored ones I just have read reviews about the colored ones not being as bright as the bulbs and can't find any reviews for non colored LED's so wondering if white LED's are the same as the colored ones. I guess not.
