Hello,
I bought a new fuel filter for my 91 Honda Accord and hope to replace it on my own if the work isn't too difficult.
The auto parts dealership gave me some instructions, but the diagrams aren't very clear. Apparently I need to unscrew a service bolt, but I can't seem to find it. Might anyone know of a diagram somewhere that would show me where this service bolt is?

Also, any links to other tutorials on replacing the fuel filter would be helpful too.

it is not essential that you unscrew the service bolt, this just releases the pressure on the fuel lines.

if u place a rag over the banjo bolt while loosening the bolt, it will catch any fuel spraying out, and once the pressure is relieved, you will be fine.

unfortunately i dont know where the service bolt is on the 4th gen, but on a 5th gen it is the small little 10mm nut thats on top of the banjo bolt that connects the fuel like to the fuel rail i believe. so maybe it is in a similar position for you as well

The service bolt is on the original fuel filter made by Honda. Unless the fuel filter is replaced with a Honda brand fuel filter, the service bolt is not there. The fuel filter is an after market unit that does not have the service bolt. As Eddiebx said, just unscrew the line to release the fuel pressure.

The problem is, when I called autozone, they produced some instructions on how to replace the fuel filter. But in those instructions it talks about releasing this service bolt in the front of the car on top, and then replacing the fuel filter in the rear, after removing the rear left wheel.

Now I just looked in my manual which says that the fuel filter is in the front below the Dash Board. So I'm confused, and I still can't find it.

don't always trust autozone's instructions. I've seen other things that weren't correct on their site.

Follow the advise above as well as your manual.

Just follow the fuel line that goes to the fuel rail back to the fuel filter.

and one very important peice of advice i forget to mention. use a flared nut wrench on the nut for the hardline, you don't want to mess up that nut as reflaring the hardline is not fun.

other than that, the replacement is very straight forward. and i believe the fuel filter is much higher up in the engien bay on the 4th gen so its easier to replace unlike the 5th gens.

sadly i own a 4th gen too, but its a beater so i dont pay attention to the part locations
