rear brakes drum to disc conversion
2000 honda accord lx f23a4 motor 5 speed 141,xxx miles. i hate my rear drum brakes. they are a pain to work on. I know that some accords of the same year as mine came with rear disc brakes. since the car is the same, i'd imagine if i went to the parts store and bought all the parts for the rear disc brakes, i could just disassemble the drum brakes and reassemble the disc brakes in their place. is it that easy or am i missing something?

Re: rear brakes drum to disc conversion
i looked it up and found exactly what i was looking for. i guess im pretty stupid for not doing a search first haha. one question did come to mind after doing a little research tho. all i could find when looking around was abs proporting valves for the ex and i was wondering would that work for my lx because it doesn't have abs?

Re: rear brakes drum to disc conversion
mostly just an idea i thought up, but i just hate taking apart all the workings associated with drum brakes. after looking it over tho, it seems like more work to convert the drums to disc so i think they will stay drums haha

Not done this but I have looked into it. Seems very straight forward, but I agree, the shoes last forever and working on drums with the right tools is super easy. I thought I read you didn't need to mess with the valve but can't recall exactly.

You don't HAVE to change the proportioning valve when doing the swap, but you really are just wasting time if you do the swap and do not switch to the 40/40 valve from a 91-93 (I think) non-abs Integra valve..
You need that valve for the rear brakes to do any work..
The hardest part of the swap honestly is getting the handbrake cables changed.
