Random stalling, need help FAST!!!
1990 Honda Accord LX AUTOMATIC
2.2L 4 cylinder 16 valve engine
Car will randomly stall. Sometimes it is frequent, sometimes once a week.
It has stalled with the engine hot and cold.
It has stalled while driving, braking, accelerating, in idle, and right after I turn the vehicle on.
Most of the time it starts back up, sometimes it will not for at least 10 minutes.
When it stalls it just dies, no cough or sputter, but the power is still on (lights etc)
Check engine light comes on whenever the problem happens, but once it starts working normally again the check engine light shuts off.
I checked the code and it says code 15 (ignition output signal) but I don't know if that was from before I had the vehicle that was not cleared.
There are also times where I will try to start it once and it will not start, but the second time I turn the key it works fine.
When it won't start it cranks up normally, it will just not catch.
It is literally so random that I have taken it to a shop twice and they could not diagnose it because it refuses to act up when they have it. (my car hates me)
Does anyone have any ideas? I have heard of some people saying it could be the ignition control module, but doesn't that generally only fail when the engine gets hot?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Code 15 normally means the ignition control module is bad. I would swap another in.
Yes normally they start failing more when the engine is hot, but its definitely possible for it to show up bad even when cold.

Re: Random stalling, need help FAST!!!
Thanks for the reply, and yeah I will definitely swap that out. Luckily it is like 50-60 dollars for an ICM and with enough patience I can swap it out myself. I will post an update when that is done, and edit the post if it does not solve the problem.
