Default Is it possible to disable the 98 accord demobilization security system??

Hello all....wife lost the only key that will start her 98 accord - it has the demobilizaiton system in it, we had a key made a while back what will open the car door but it will not start the engine ofcourse.

So before i pay honda 115 dollars for a new key and to reprogram it i am wording if that system can be disabled, don't think its possible but it never hurts to try.
Thought about getting a ignition system from the junk yard, but that probably wouldn't be any cheaper anyway....

thanks guys was able to get it done at honda on saturday, only cost 50 dollars for the key and they programmed it for free, not to sure if i got away w/ it or not but as soon as he said i was all set i was outta there.

funny thing is the guy who found the keys to the car out side our apt. turned them in right after i got that done and the old key doesn't work any more so idk they must have whipped the system clean...would like to have two keys anyway so i'll be going back to see if they can get the ecu to recognize both.

I believe that there is either a 4 or 6 key limit

Yeah, the dealer probably deleted the lost key, and they could add it back. There is a 6 key limit. Here is a TSB FYI:
