Icon5 Possible AC compressor issue?

2002 Honda Accord (2-door) Monday afternoon I backed out of my parking spot and started to go forward. When I did the car cut itself off. I tried to restart the car and it did restart but I couldn't press down on the breaks at all and the car would switch gears but would not move when I pressed the gas. After a few minutes I got it back into the parking spot and out of the way but it was making a noise like the breaks were being pumped. After about 30 minutes I tried to start it again and was able to drive it all the way home which is maybe 5 miles and it did fine. Today (Wednesday afternoon) I drove it one mile to work and it did fine but I turned the AC on when idling in the parking spot and the car immediately turned itself off again. I tried to turn it back on immediately with the AC off and it did turn on again. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be that may not cost me as much as having the compressor replaced?

Is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?

If the compressor is seizing, you can bypass the compressor pulley with a different size belt (bypass belt).

It is a 4-cylinder! I got a quote from a place and they said it will cost $94 just to test my compressor to see if that is what's wrong. I am willing to bypass it if possible. I can live without AC.

The Accord DX does not come with A/C. You can try the DX alternator belt, Honda part number 31110-P0B-A12, or an aftermarket belt.

It is #2 in this image and would replace the longer belt that goes over the A/C compressor pulley (triangular belt in the image).
