Parasitic draw 1998 accord
Having problems with a parasitic draw on a 1998 Honda Accord LX 2.3 manual. Seems as if the multiplex units will not go to sleep. If I remove the 7.5 fuse on the passenger side (# 13) the draw stops, and if cut the white/yellow on the drivers side that's fed from that fuse the draw stops. I've done the test procedures in the OE Honda service manuals short of swapping multiplexes. All accessories seem to operate normal, just the multiplex on drivers side won't sleep thus causing 70-80mA draw instead of the correct 10+/- mA. Anyone have any suggestions? Time to try a different multiplex?
Thanks

If the excessive parasitic draw drops to normal after pulling that fuse, then you would start checking other component/circuits protected by the same fuse. With the fuse re-installed, you can test individual component/circuits.
You can individually unplug connectors or test wiring for shorts with a meter.
The power door lock switch is one component or the related wiring is one example that can cause the under-dash driver's multiplex control unit to stay awake. You will have to take off the driver's door panel to access the connectors there (there is the Driver’s
Door Lock **** Switch, Driver’s Door Key Cylinder Switch, etc. behind there).
Also other things like an aftermarket alarm, or Honda OEM accessory alarm, or other aftermarket component may be the cause if they are on the car.

Re: Parasitic draw 1998 accord
Car is 100% stock. I can unplug everything except that white/yellow feed wire on the drivers side fuse block and I still have the draw. That white and yellow wire feeds the multiplex. I have disassembled the fuse block and the multiplex on the drives side and they show zero sign of corrosion.

Yes, the driver's mcu needs power via the Wht/Yel wire to function. However, when the mcu is functional, something like a faulty driver's door **** switch or wiring can cause the mcu to stay awake and not go into sleep mode.
Have you tried unplugging the connectors behind the driver's door panel before?

Yes. Everything tested OK with my multi meter in/on the drivers door-OK per honda electrical manual. Also, all accessories function properly.
