p1359 Thrown, Car Wouldn't Even Crank
Car is throwing p1359, sometimes when I try to crank my car nothing happens, I back off the crank and go again, fires right up, usually happpens on cold mornings. Last night it would not crank to save its life and I ended up bumming a ride with my buddy, came back the next morning, and all today, fires right up. The code says the sensor is disconnected and sometimes I get a funny idle but thats about the end of my problems with it. Any ideas? I must maintain my title of most reliable car among my friends

As you stand on the drivers side of the car looking at the T-belt area, to the right of the upper T-belt cover there is a connector , about where the 2 covers meet up.
make sure it is a good connection. The wire loom runs on down the back of the lower T-belt cover and you can check that also.
Other than that you'll need to scope the pulse from the sensor or find other places the wiring could be corrupted.
The last step of the diagnostic tree is to "replace the ECU with a known good unit"
SURE, you bet, we all have one just sitting on our toolbox. LOL
Earlier years of Accord used a sensor inside the Dist to determine crank position.

Alright it happen again yesterday after a short trip and short trip back home then I went to leave 5 minutes later and it wouldn't start, came back 4 hours later and fired right up and still does. Could my ignition have something in it/be going bad/bad wiring?

yeah or maybe the sensor is clogged with carbon on the inside and isn't putting anything out making it seem disconnected, thanks for the extremely helpful response by the way, jackass

Hey I offered my Help, and you came off with your attitude that I am stupid because Seafoam will fix anything.
Take your junk to the dealer and I hope you pay out the A$$

I unplugged and blew out the connector and it seems to be working ok. I tried my car again this morning and it didn't crank the first time, I backed off the key and tried, cranked and fired the second time. Do optima batteries not make full power for a few seconds in the morning or something? Am I cranking too fast?

Re: (Patman)
You seem to get more than one thing going on.
The P1359 can't produce a non-crankng problem. For that you'd look for dirty battery terminals, starter terminals, flaky ignition switch, physical stuff like that. Heck, the starter should crank even if the CKP/TDC sensor was unplugged.

I'm having the same problem with my 98 Accord LX 4-door (73,000 miles). Won't start intermittently. It's happening all the time. My mechanic changed starter, battery, shifter sensor. We couldn't figure problem out, so went to the dealer. Had recall done years ago with ignition switch, so dealer checked it and tightened it and said to remove after market alarm that was partially removed already. Had the rest of alarm pulled (wiring) today, and now I have a Check Engine code of P1359.

Did the ignition switch help at all or is it the aftermarket alarm. I have some ebay remote start installed, POS likely, I wonder if thats causing it.

Re: (Patman)
If the aftermarket alarm has a starter-kill, then it could possibly be the alarm acting up. BUT, it wouldn't throw the code... It would just be 2 separate issues.

Dunno; I'm just guessing here...
Is it possible that someone got 'creative' with that alarm installation? Maybe they interrupted the circuit for the CKP/TDC sensor? (Instead of interrupting the starter circuit?) In that case you couldn't start the car by getting under the hood & applying power directly to the starter.
You'll have to look for WHERE they broke into the CKP/TDC sensor circuit...
