I searched already and could not find a thread that related to my problem 100%. Anyways my 94 accord has been overheating when I am at idle for a few seconds. But once I begin to drive again, the goes back to the normal tempature. I just had the radiator and themostat replaced about 10k miles ago. Could this be a bad temp sensor?? THanks

how far is it overheating? is there a check engien light on? it almost sounds like the thermostat, which you said you replaced, or a fan relay.

Did you bleed the air out of the system? Did you have the heater control set to full on? Here's a link, do some troubleshooting. Good luck

Could be a bad thermostat. I replaced mine when I overhauled my cooling system on my cb7 and it failed the same day. Swapped it with a cheapy gates t-stat and it been holding for weeks fine.

Thermostat sometimes are manufactuer defects.

Check to see that the cooling fans are cycling. when you are sitting at a stop there is no air flow thru the radiator, when you start rolling again air flow thru the radiator cools it back down.
So just run the redlights and stop signs. LMAO

jump the line coming off the ect on the thermo housing. both fans should turn on when your ignition is on. if not. it is the fan motors or the lines. if so, then check when at idle if it overheats whether the fans are on or not. if not, then check the continuity on the ect sensor itself. if it reads nothing during overheating, then that is the problem.

gl. I am having similar troubles now. but mine just overheats in the first 2 minutes of starting..... and then goes back to normal after 20 min of driving/idling.......

Thats what I'm thinking, check engine light ever came on. Im gonna have it checked out next week. Thanx for the input guys

Hmm.. To make things easy.. Your signature says you've got an EX Accord. If that's so, the simplest cooling fan test is to turn on your AC. If the fans don't turn on, I'd check to make sure they're plugged in. You did just have the radioator replaced, something could've been left unplugged.
