oil leak+exhaust manifold=smoke, lots of smoke
my girlfriends 91 accord se 4 dr is leaking oil on to the exhaust manifold and subsequently smoking very badly. i have pin pointed two possible places it is leaking from one is the oil pan gasket ( easy fix ) the other is where the oil filter connects. my question is, if it is the filter connector how involved will it be to fix? I'm trying to save money by fixing it my self but have limited experience and even more limited tools any advice would be much appreciated

Re: oil leak+exhaust manifold=smoke, lots of smoke (96coupe)
I'd suspect the Valve Cover Gasket, the Oil Pressure Sensor (mounted above the oil filter) and/or the Oil Filter inself.
A quick rule of thumb: Oil leaks from the top down.
It can't defy the laws of physics, and magically levitate from places down below.
It might be worth your time (and Money) to have the engine washed off, so that you can get a better look at it.
