Oil dipstick question
Just changed the oil on this 94 accord ex/vtec for the first time since I bought her last month and I noticed that with 4.5 quarts of oil on a level surface, the oil on the dipstick barely makes it to the first hole closest the tip. Is this normal, I always thought that between the two holes on the stick is the normal level, maybe the wrong dipstick was installed. Anyone know were I can find info for the correct length of dipstick for this engine? Thanks

Re: Oil dipstick question (New2HD)
Was the engine hot or cold? Usually the best time to check the dipstick is a few minutes after shutting off the engine at normal operating temperature. If it is below the bottom mark on the stick, just put in a half quart or so to get it above the lower mark. If you're below the mark, usually a full quart will get it up to the top mark, but you don't want to overfill either. It's not unheard of for Honda's to burn oil, but your F22 isn't known to burn oil. The Type R's B18C5 motor and Prelude H22A motors tend to burn up to a quart after a day or two at the track.
I don't know if 4.5 quarts is enough for that engine at oil change, but it sounds about right. My old non VTEC SOHC F22 took exactly 4 quarts at oil change, and my new H22A4 takes 5.2 quarts.
