oil dipstick might be wrong.
I have a 95 lx with a 94 ex f22b1 which really means no difference other than engine. I am getting the feeling though that the dipstick that came in this engine is not the right one. I have notcied a few times that when I do my full oil changes I can put 5 full quarts of oil in the engine and it not show up on the dipstick at all. But I do not go any further than this because I do not want it to be too full. It might be me but I was wondering if anyone has any information that can help me out with this before I mess something up. And in case anyone asks, yes I have taken the oil pan off and seen the dipstick hanging there. Have not checked the distance while in the oil pan enclosed but I have seen it in there so it isn't stuck inside the dipstick tube.

Re: dipstick
Def. don't want to put more than the recommended amount of oil in there. To much will cause foam and will burn up your oil pump.
Go to a junkyard and get the correct dipstick.

So you make two posts, realize that even with 5 quarts of oil it won't show up on the dipstick and you still can't figure out it is the wrong dipstick? Not to mention, 5 quarts is to much oil...though looking in the owners manual for fluid specs might be to difficult for you I guess.

Re: oil dipstick might be wrong.
I checked the owners manual fool. I know it is only suppose to take 4.5 quarts with a fool oil and filter change. Which is why I am wondering what s going on. If all you got as an asnwer is time to ridicule me and talk smack then move on. As to the MuffinMan, yeah it is 4.5 qts. Thats why I was wondering if it could be the wrong dipstick but not sure. Went to the junkyards around here and all of them are gone so I cant compare them to mine. It just cant be right. I am not leaking oil and I know I poured already 5 qts. The light is not on and the engine is running beautifully. What the hell could be the problem. Why would it not show up on the dipstick. Can anyone take a measurement of their dipstick and post it to double check if its the right length or not please?

nahh no gunk or oil leaks anywhere. Just did a full gasket change on the engine tore it apart completely. Cleaned everything out. But even if the tube had gunk inside of it, the dipstick goes out the other end into the crank case itself so it would get marked once inside.
