Default Oil

Hi I spilt some oil on the intake in my car, it was a good amount of oil but now even after driving 100 miles it is still burning. I would have thought it would have burnt off within a few minutes. How long does it usually take?

you probsbly got it on the exhaust pipe with the little meshed sleeve which is passes directly under the oil pan and below the oil filter as well. with the car cold and in the air, spray parts wash or brake cleener on the pipe and wipe it off with a rag. maybe allow as much as 5 minutes before you start the car again, to allow the cleener to disipate. some parts washes are flamable and have low flash points. and the smell should go away within a half hour or less.
