ODBII Codes P0420 and P1457 What's Up ?

99 Accord 4 cylinder, PEP Boys pulled 2 codes
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
P1457 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected(Control Canister System)
What does this mean ??

P0420 =bad catalytic converter- Honda warranty 8 yr/ 80K miles ? (I work 4 Acura, Honda boys will have to answer this)
p1457= most likely you left the gas cap loose when refueling, or problem in evap system good luck

Hey KD thanks for the reply, I will check w/ Midas on the cat and see what
price they will quoat me, I will check the charcoal canister and its connections
and if they look ok I will replace the gas cap and see what happens

don't waste your time with the gas cap. that would be a p1456. that is tank side. 1457 is EVAP side. you canister and shut valve are bad. take it to a honda dealer and see if it is covered. i know that they have an extended emisions warrenty on the check engine light. the P0420 is correct that you need a new cat
