obd1 h22 into 96 accord lx, wiring info needed ASAP
alright im running into a weird problem. i have an jdm prelude fornt cut, obd1 the distributor has an internal coil. there are 2 plugs on the dist. one with 2 wires, the other has 7. the wiring harness from the 1996 accord which is factory equipped with an external coil. 2 plugs as well, 2 and 4 wires each. thats where the prob starts.. i know the crank angle sensor is external on the obd2 but the wire colors do not match...
any ideas on how to wire this thing up, or can i get a prelude or obd1 engine bay harness and plug it into the 96? anyone.. any idea?
im using a obd 2 to 1 conversion harness for the ecu, is there a obd1 distributor with external coil that fits the h22, if so from what. i could just wire in the crank angle sensor to the fact harness?.

how the hell did you do that? the bolt pattern is nowhere close... and its shy a sensor. which are different in config from the prelude ones.

wait, i'm trying to remember how we did it...we might have used the internals of the obd2 distributor inside the prelude distributor...i'll have to check on it tomorrow...

i think we used the inside of the b18 and shell of another.. it was a PIA

Re: (-Bionic-)
Something to note. The "green" colored wire from the OBD I (H22 distributor) may not be green. In my case it's Org/Blu. Maybe it will help.

Re: (-Bionic-)
that looks great and all, but the obd2 plug there has 6 wires. the accord lx harness that came in the car only has 4 wires in the big plug and 2 in the dist. power plug...
do i need to get a diff harness? remember im using a jdm motor.. so i cant reuse the harness.

Re: (TypeRKoncepts)
The diagram above works. The reason why it doesn't work for me is because the distributor I'm using has a different color scheme.

Re: (-Bionic-)
ok im completely retarded... but the colors had me all jacked up, it was late and i had one bonghit too many...
anyhoo thanks koncepts and bionic.. yall cleared it right up for me.
i used the 96 accord harness, cut all the loom off it, put an obd1 plug on the harness, pinned in teh wires, cut all the loom off the harness pulled the crank angle wires back over to the disttributor cut them to the right length and pinned those in as well... retaped teh harness and reloomed it. shes good to go... looks like factory.. no one will ever know.
thanks again everyone.. i took pics of the process if anyone gets stuck in the future.

Re: (-Bionic-)
At this very moment, I'm throwing code 9 and the car sputters throughout the rpm. I don't think the wirings is done incorrectly. Could the ignition timing be off?
Thanks
Thanks

could be , whats code 9?
remember in obd2 the time is auto adjusted by the ecu
when going to obd1 its more of a manual adjust
only small problem, is that the dizzy is kinda fixed on obd2 cause its done by the comptuer, so you cant move it all that much
