2000 O2 sensor problem
2000 Accord SE. Does anyone have the codes and how get get them and then turn the check engine light off. I'm asking for my daughter in law and don't want to buy a manual if I don't have to.
The check engine light came on and she had it checked at the dealer and they said it was a bad computer chip P1166 & P1167. One was bad. They wanted a small fortune to fix it as dealers usually do. I found out that the chips only come with the sensor and it has 2 sensors, 1 before the cat. conv.& 1 after. Can anyone tell me by the chip numbers which one it is (before or after)? It would seem to be an easy fix. I'm trying to save them some money as they just had a baby. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Re: 2000 O2 sensor problem (billshonda)
I don't know what they meant by a bad computer chip, but it looks like the heater element on the primary o2 sensor is bad. Or maybe just the wiring is dirty or broken. It should be located on the exhaust manifold.
