Newb question about clutch fluid.
Hi guys. I've searched, and I can't seem to come up with anything. Even my Haynes manual doesn't specify that I can tell.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of clutch fluid I need to use in my 2000 Accord Ex Coupe. I know the brake fluid is DOT-3, and I've heard that you use brake fluid in the clutch lines on some cars, but I wanted to be sure about this one. I appreciate the input, guys. Thanks a lot.

Re: Newb question about clutch fluid.
No, you don't need to bleed the system if you're just topping it off to it's correct level. You only bleed the system if you remove/disconnect the clutch fluid lines or replaced the slave cyl.

Re: Newb question about clutch fluid.
These cars all came with power steering as standard equipment.
Did the person who told you that it doesn't have power steering remove it, or know that it had been removed from your car? Someone may have removed the pump, belt or maybe looped the power steering lines to delete the power steering system. This is quite common for people to do on these older cars if they don't want to spend the money to fix a power steering issue.
The clutch reservoir, mounted near the strut tower on the drivers side.

Re: Newb question about clutch fluid.
But to clarify, the clutch reservoir is the smaller one on the right, mounted on the strut tower.

Re: Newb question about clutch fluid.
Clutch fluid is the same as brake fluid. You just need it to be clean fresh fluid. It can be any color you want as long as it meets DOT3 specs.
