Default need 91 accord head swap help

i have a 91 accord ex. its got the stock non vtec f22 motor in it. i got it with some bent valves from a timing belt break. i bought a new motor for it which is a 98 f23 vtec motor. all i want to do for now is just a head swap. i know about the 1mm size difference in a bores. im going to use the f23 head gasket and timing belt so everything fits right. but my biggest concern is stuff not working because of obd1,2 differences. just to make it easy so i dont need a new ecu or harness i want to put the f22 intake manifold on the f23 head so all the sensors are the same. im gonna use the f22 dizzy as the f23 didnt come with one. and i want to use the f22 exhaust as well so it matches up to whats allready in the car. will the intake manifold match up right? and another thing ive noticed is the thermostat housings are different. well im not sure if its the thermostat housings or not but the spot on the dizzy side of the head where the lower radiator hoses connect, those are different and im not sure if that will work. plus the new f23 head didnt come with the thermo housing i think. so im gonna need that for sure. but what i want to know is there a way of putting the entire f23 head on the f22block without needing an ecu or having the sensors be different or is the way i want to do it correct? i dont care if the vtec doesnt work for the time being i just want to get the car running and driving and ill worry about the rest at a later time. since i have the f23 block anyway and might eventually do a full swap.

The IM will bolt up, but i think there is a coolant passage on the F23 head that won't be sealed by the F22 IM. Some one please correct me if I am wrong and secondly the exhaust mani from the F22 0-0-0-0 (exhaust ports) wont fit the head from the f23 0-00-0. And you may need a different water pipe. You might want to look in the 1990-2002 Accord FAQ section it is a sticky at the top of the page for more info.

yea the water pipes look different to me as well. will the auto trans from the 91 ex match up to the 98 f23 i have since it didnt come with a tranny. if i do a full motor swap instead of just the head swap, will i for sure need a new ecu and wiring harness?

The trans will bolt up. Now controlling it will be the hard part as the 91 has a separate TCU and ECU. And the 91 trans has a throttle cable controlling it. The 98 F23 has a ECU that controls the tranny and engine combined. There is no throttle cable it is controlled electronically.

ok since this doesnt look like its gonna work out as easy as i was told. since i cant run the f22 block with the f23 stock head because of wiring issues and the ecu and i cant run the f23 head with the f22 manifold or exhaust and i cant run the whole f23 motor because if i did the ecu swap and the harness swap then my tranny wouldnt work. what i think to be the best solution is to just replace the valves on the f22 head and run a complete stock setup and just hang on to the vtec motor. would it be the easiest and most cost effective thing to just change the valves so i have compression agian and then find a manual tranny for the f23 and swap it out later. keep in mind i bought this car blown up, to fix it and then sell it. but now that i have run into these problems i think i might just keep it.

The easiest thing to do is replace the bent valves. Take the head to machine shop and have it checked out.Is the head already off the block? Make sure there is no damage to the pistons.

well its official im doing the head swap. im having trouble with alldata pro. i need to know which sensors on the f23 head are different then the f22 head so i can rewire or change them to work with the f22 wiring. also do i need to use the f22 water pipe or the f23 waterpipe? and i notice on the new head, right on the manifold where the EGR bolts on theres like an open spot that something blots onto and would have like a hose for the egr or somthing, that piece is missing off the new motor and i cant find on all data what part it is.
