2 possibly unrelated problems - 99 Accord
Hi everyone,
I am having two problems with my 99 accord that are leaving me a bit puzzled. Not sure if they're related, but I figured that they could be, so I should include them in 1 post. The first is that the HVAC indicator lights intermittently turn off. The ***** still work, so I still get air, but it's not cool and I can't control where the air goes when the lights aren't on.
The second problem is that the car acts as if it's not getting enough gas sometimes. It has only ever happened when I'm in first gear and from a stop. So, from time to time when I'm leaving a stop sign or stop light (or sometimes when I first start it up), it moves but it moves very slowly. I can push the gas pedal all the way down, but it moves very sluggishly. Also, it seems to help (though it could be my imagination) if I put the car back in neutral and try to start again. Usually popping it back in neutral gets the car going. It never has problems in a higher gear and it only does it from stopped.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I don't think they are related.
The 6th gens have an issue on the PCB for the HVAC. There are some threads floating around where people have run a jumper wire on the PCB and fixed it.
Second issue - are there any stored codes in the PCM? Are the tune up items up to date......when you answer these, let us know if we are dealing with a 4 or 6 cyl - that kind of helps

Re: 2 possibly unrelated problems - 99 Accord
Hi! thanks for your reply. It's a 4 cylinder. I bought it recently, so I don't know which things are totally up to date, but I know that it has a new clutch, timing belt, and break pads. The "maintenance required" light is not on, but blinks a little when I start it up, so it's possible that it's due for an oil change and other maintenance.
I looked up the threads for the HVAC panel problems, so I can ask my mechanic about that. It's not a big issue for me, but the stalling has made me nervous. I will take it to autozone today to hook it up to a diagnostic computer and see if there are any codes coming up.
Thanks again for the reply.
