Do what it says. Do you have problems with it now? Why change? Maybe for the summer you can run w30.

honda reccomends 5w-20 because it helps them acheive slightly better gas mileage and it allows them to quote a lower avg figure for all their models. 3.0 V6 pre 2001 used 5w-30 and it will work just fine. imo, the 5w-20 oil is like water so i mix it with mobil 1 5w-30 in my GFs '02 civic. btw the 5w-20 honda oil is made by mobil.

You remind me of someone. Hmm, could you be the guy who's changed his name what three times now? Yeah, I remember you. Trying to cover your tracks eh? Not working too well.

Superslow has a good point and you never answered his question, why do you want to change oil weight?

And don't bump your own threads 10 minutes after starting it, that's why I didn't bother responding when I first saw it.

Edit: OK, just paid attention to his username. Mods, can you just ban this guy already?

4th time the charm?

I'll ask why if I damn well feel like it. Not to mention your question was already answered.

Also, if you weren't trying to as you put it "hurt anyone's feelings" you wouldn't have come up with such a retarded name to begin with. For that matter, why even change your name to begin with. Oh, I do believe I already covered that earlier.

Stop bumping up your thread. Your question was answered. You only need to make ONE post. Take note of the edit button.

I don't know the history of past discussions among you all, I'm just responding to the question.

We run Pennzoil 5W-20 in our 02 Accord V6, adding a little Lube Control to reduce oxidation and a little Schaeffers 132. Did a used oil analysis recently that showed excellent results, low wear metals and good viscosity. Good dino and semi syn blend 5w-20s do very well in late model Hondas specced for 5W-20. I don't think you'll see much loss of fuel economy running 5W-30 if you feel better with that.

Lots of good info at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com, a number of UOAs for Hondas with various oils, dinos such as Pennzoil, Motorcraft, also syns, Mobil 1 and German Castrol, blends such as Schaeffers.
