Default Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) ECU question.

Ive the the D4 light blinking and no speedo sydrome.

Background > 94 accord ex bought it without a working tranny

Swapped tranny that I got on ebay from another 94 accord. 4th gear didn't work in that tranny (Its an automatic), So I bought another tranny from a 96 accord with a somewhat of a warrenty. Tranny is running good but I still have no speedo and d4 light blinks.

I swapped the VSS electrical unit from the 94 tranny to the 96 because of the 96 being ODB2.

Tomorrow morning Im going to checked the voltages output on the vss sensor itself. From what Ive read theres a yellow, black and orange wires coming off the sensor.

Im assuming yellow is a 12V input and the black is ground?

The orange wire is the output to the ECU with a 0 to 5 volt range?

If I hook a voltmeter up the unit and spin the tires will I getting a reading on it? I heard that is outputs a frequency modulation? Im not electronic guru so some insite on this might help.

If the sensor comes out ok Im just going to run a new wire to the ecu.
What is the input on the ecu for this sensor?

Ive got a image of the ecu "I think" from the apexi website showing a turbo timmer install on an accord.

I was wondering if anybody new the color going into the ecu and could confirm this in a helms manual.

Thanks for the help.

Well...In my post I orignally never said that vss clip didn't fit snug; like the clip was broken. So my frist plan was to swap the clip. I cut the clip and swaped one in and the same problem was there. The clip wouldn't fit. And I was like WTF. After close ivestigation at the vss there was this plastic peice inside stoping the clip from going in. I took this out and all was well.
