Default Hood has the shakes

Ok, I have 6 rubber pieces (4 in front, 2 on the sides) in place, and I have replaced the hood latch. The hood stays securely in place in the middle but shakes visibly on the sides while driving and makes noise. What's the best way to fix it, am I missing some rubber on the hood or something? I don't see anything on this diagram:

the actual rubber pieces move up and down if u twist them. you could try raising the rubber pieces so the hodd actually rests on the rubber pieces

Yeah, I tried that. But even if I unscrew them as far as they can go without coming out, it still seems like there is something missing along the left and right edges that should be underneath the hood and keeping it from shaking back and forth. Couldn't find anything obvious on the junkyard cars.

is your hood even with the fenders.
i know in my car you can adjust the hieght of the latch (99 accord)
my hood was really high and it shook from side to side as well/ also made a bad screaching noise.
then i found out i can lower the latch and now the hood rests on the rubber things, doesnt make that noise anymore, looks even with the fenders, and doesnt move from side to side anymore

That's the weird thing. It's even with the fenders, but it's not resting on the rubber things that go into the holes on the top of the fenders, one on each side.

Are your motor mounts okay? I had a friend with a bad motor mount whose hood would shake / vibrate really loudly when at an idle or when driving once he replaced the broken mount it stopped.

Hmm, I guess it's worth a check. I just replaced the dog bone mount in the front because it was rotten.

Mounts are good. Could someone do me a favor and go and push down on the very edge of your hood about midway between the windshield and nose of the car? And tell me what is keeping the hood solid and not letting it push down at that particular point? I have a square hole on each side that it seems like a rubber piece of some sort could pop into, but I have not been able to locate such a piece on any junkyard car.

How does the alignment look at the front? You may have to adjust your hood latch downwards.

Also is this a metal/OEM hood? Or is this a fiberglass/carbon fiber?

The alignment looks great. It's right on, at least if the hood is supposed to look level with the fenders. I don't know about the composition, but it seems like metal and has never been replaced to my knowledge.

On each fender about halfway between the windshield and the front of the fender there's a rubber part described as 'cushion, hood side', part# 74146-SM4-000 (sorry, I can't display the page you refer to in your OP)

OK, I have those. I wonder why there is a gap, none of this is making any sense. If the hood itself is flush with the fenders then those two rubber pieces should be supporting the hood on the sides.

Any chance these rubber parts are cracked or worn out? Like you said they should be supporting the hood when the sides are flush with the fenders. You could attach little rubber pads to the bottom side of the hood to make the hood sides rest on these 'cushions'.

I'll check for cracks. Yeah, I'm ready now to just "make it work". I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something completely obvious first.

Can I ask why the hood was replaced to begin with? Something bent. With the hinge off-how does is lay on the stops....could the latch be pushed back creating the bow in the middle.

The hood wasn't replaced, just the latch because of this problem. I noticed there was play in the latch and replaced it because I thought it was the cause. Now there is no play in the latch but the hood still shakes. I'll take a closer look at how the latch sits and see if anything looks funny.

Are there supposed to be any rubber pieces in the hood itself? i.e. facing downwards
