honda Accord 92 Still no spark
hi,
my 92 honda accord was starting to stall a bit, then one night it just stopped. the gas was quite low,so i went and put more gas in with a red tank. Drove to the gas station and put 30$ of gas. i drove away, after 10mins, the car stalled again in the middle of a bridge and never started since.
I changed the gas filter, put 5 new spark cables, new rotor, new distributor. Also when i changed the spark cables i found that the top gasket was dried up and a couple of spark plugs were in oil, so we changed the gaskets.
Still no sparks i started to do some tests i found on the net (major thanks to everybody outhere, amazing all you can find). i checked and can hear 3 clicks from the main relay. find 12v on connector going to ignition coil. I found that the ignition coil was bad, the last reading, between B and D didnt have any resistance. Got a new ignition coil, test good but still no spark. I removed the distribution and rotor and tested the yel/grn and blk/yellow and i have around 12v on both. It reads around 2000 ohms between the blue and light green, and should tell me that the igniter is good.
The engine light turn off after i couple of seconds when i turn the switch on. Now i'm after the computer for a code. i've found it under passenger feet, got both metal boxes at my hand and now looking for that small cable i'm suppose to short to get a code.
Test for the Triggering Signal from yellow/green cable failed.
is there something i've missed before i go for a code ?
thanks

Re: honda Accord 92 Still no spark
When you test everything in the ignition and all comes out good but you still have no spark past the distributor. I have found that it ends up being the ignitor. Even the test for the ignitor does not actually test the circuit on board the ignitor itself.
My troubleshooting guide even states that if all tests good, replace the ICM/ignitor in the distributor.
