Default Helppp!! F22 With H22 pistons

I have an F22B2 Bored out to 87mm with H22a4 P13A Pistons the only thing is they stick out im using an F22A6 Head and a .30 Felpro headgasket im worried about the valves hitting the piston i saw pirate Mcfred Post about the G23 with h22a4 pistons but the only thing is F23 and F22 have different rod lengths
F22 = 5.572
F23 = 5.551

they also have different strokes, compression heights of pistons, main journal diameter, etc.

This tool is handy for figuring that stuff out beforehand:

I guess your best bet now is to either DIY or have someone check your valve clearances. Are you planning on getting a different camshaft?

Clay the engine..... There is no online compression calculator that will be able to tell you your actual piston to head or piston to valve clearances.

Your piston will be out of the head 0.02" your head gasket is 0.03" that only gives you 0.01" clearance between your piston top and the surface of the 85mm F22A6 head. The stock F22 piston sticks out of the head 0.002", your stretching it a bit.

What diameter is your head gasket? Hopefully it's at least 87mm - 88mm.

Have the head or block ever been machined?

Im Using an F23a1 head gasket just because it already comes 87 mm due to the fact the f23 has an 86mm bore and head gaskets already come 1mm over stock and my block has only been bored and hone and my head is completly stock im Using the A6 cam

That is an OEM/replacement MLS F23 head gasket with a crush height of 0.026" not 0.03" Therefore you are going to be a little bit closer with your clearances. The A6 cam won't really make any difference as it has a stock lift profile for the PT3 head.

However you should clay the engine to get your exact piston to valve clearances to be on the safe side. This way you will now how much room you have. If you ever end up wanting a larger lift cam in the future.

I don't think you'll have as much to worry about piston to valve clearances as you are going to have possible piston to head clearance issues. If you read PirateMcfreds thread. I think he also mentions something about machining the combustion chambers for the larger diameter pistons.

Piston diameter = 87mm
F22 combustion chamber diameter at the heads surface = 85mm.

Therefor you only have the head gaskets thickness (0.026") of clearance between the outer ridge of the piston top and the outer surface of the combustion chamber/cylinder head.

Do i have to modify the combustion chamber or can i just use the head as is?

Ghost is trying to tell you that since your build is a little different than Pirate's, you are going to have to find out for sure by claying your setup; that or proceed at risk and accept the potential consequences.

I would trust his advice when it comes to engine building.
