help with 95 accord no start issue
been trying to help a close friend with his 95 accord and I'm just plain frustrated at this point. in the past the car would get harder to start the less fuel there was in the tank and when it was idling it would idle rough.
finally a couple months ago he just couldnt get it cranked at all. before it got to that point we goofed around with it some. we cleaned the egr ports and put on a new fuel filter.
this past weekend we rented a fuel pressure test kit and checked the fuel pressure, which showed us the pump was bad. pulled the tank and put a new one in and now its got fuel pressure. still wont start. pulled a spark plug and it does have spark but the spark looks weak. I know on an old prelude I had, I had spark but it wouldnt crank because of a bad ignitor (it also had weak spark as well) but we dont want to just toss parts at this thing.
I've been looking around but is there a year/model specific test procedure for the ignitor and the coil on these things?
is there anything else we should look at? we tried testing the main relay but the procedure online said there was a #4 terminal which ours has an empty spot on it. the other tests were fine and the fuel pump DOES work...and we do have spark so I'm assuming its good as the main relay outputs to the ecu and the fuel pump...
