heating problems
I have a 95 honda accord ex and my heater is not working right. When I run the car the heater works but I have to leave it on 1 or 2 and it will heat a little but when I stop the heat gets cold. Even when it does heat I cant set it to 3 or 4 because then it will just let out cold air. I dont know what to do, I got the almost everything looked at and it seems that almost everything is working. I dont know if I have a clogged heater coil, bad water pump, or valve. I think my waterpump is bad but I'm not sure if the waterpump has something to do with my heating system. I will grateful if someone helps me out .

first make sure the heater control **** isn't broken, very common problem on that model. Then under hood against the firewall be sure the water valve to the heater is opening all the way; with the valve open the 2 heater hoses going thru the fire wall should have equal temp, after the engine is warmed up.
if your water pump was bad the engine would overheat.
You could have a T-stat stuck open.

If your heater control **** is broke, a trick I've used is to put a zip-tie around the cracked plastic part. Holds up really well and virtually unbreakable, even if your heater cable is frozen.
