Re: g23 help
you do have to block off 2 remaining drain port on the h22 head. not to sure about the harness but i beleive its suppose to work i am currently working on this project to. you will need a h22 crank cog, h22 timing belt, and you will need to take the gead off the h22 water pump and press it into the f23 water pump. those are the important things you will have to do. as for the distributor not to sure, and you will need a p13 ecu, p28, or p78 but the p28, and p72 have to b chipped to be used with the build. lastly a conversion harness for your ecu. is your car auto or manual?

Re: g23 help
haha i had the same question at one point the cog refers to the gear that sits behind the pulley http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...NKSHAFT-PISTON. go to the site and a picture should show up if it doesnt go to the prelude 93 v tec or which ever engine you are using. and the crank cog or crank gear (same thing) should be number 16, it fits behind 18 and 15

It was meant as a kind of jovial warning to you. A warning that you should be ready for a lot of PM's regarding every single nut and bolt required for the OP to complete this build from here on out. aka spoon feeding....

Re: g23 help
Well the G23 has been done a few times. I have seen threads where people get no answers and that it's tough to get help. I have no idea what it takes.
I think PirateMcFred has been working with H23 & F23 DOHC VTEC builds for a while now. Maybe you should check out some of his stuff. Try using the advanced search. Use the keyword "G23" and in the search by user name field put "PirateMcFred". See what that gets ya.

Re: g23 help
I'm pretty sure you existing harness will work, i'm sure you will have to add in wires for the VTEC solenoid & pressure switch. I know that the H23 head bolts are the same the same as the F23,F22A,F22B, There is a good chance that the H22 uses the same head bolts.
You will need a tuneable ECU. Phearable.net is pretty cheap and have quality products.

Re: g23 help
F23 Parts
- Block
- Head gasket
- Water pump (The housing)
- Rear Water Pipe (to connect with H22 water pipe)
H22 Parts
- Head (Complete...Valvetrain, Cover, Dist, Manifolds, VTEC Solenoid, Etc.)
- Water pump (Just the gear)
- Rear Water Pipe (to connect with F23 water pipe)
- Timing Belt
- Crank Gear
- Crank Pulley (Only if you are using H-series alternator. I recommend using the F23 alternator bracket though cause the F23 dip stick bolts to it.)
Modifications
- You have to plug two oil drains in the h22 head that do not exist on the f23 block...
- You have to use the h22 upper water pipe and connect it to the lower part of the f23 water pipe... You will have to either weld it together or connect it with rubber hose...
- You also have pull the gear off of an f23 water pump and install an h22 gear on it because the H-Series water pump is different...
I'm probably forgetting something. It's been a while. If I remember anything else I'll update this post...
Here is my old F23/H22 thread if you want some more info. It was boosted but building the motor is the same. Sorry my pics don't work anymore.

And here is the thread that started it all by prelittlelude. It is long but it has all the info you could possibly need in there...

And this is PirateMcFred's F23/H23 thread. It's with an H23 head but tons of good info in there as well...
